2025 American Express Best Bets PGA Tour
Back for another week on the PGA Tour and looking for best bets heading into the American Express in Palm Springs, CA.
My goal with these is not to pick the top guys based on odds (although that may happen from time to time). Rather the goal is to bring to light some players who may be flying a bit under the radar. Guys that have shown some promise as of late, and perhaps players that have a good track record at the golf course.
Max Greyserman
Not flying under the radar any longer, Max is going off at the 5th best betting favorite at 28 to 1 odds of victory. If you look at Max's scorecards, the tournaments where he is not in contention he usually has 1 bad round. Let's bank on that bad round not hurting him too bad on a very scoreable golf course this week in the desert.
Nico Echavarria
Riding the hot hand, 4 out of Nico's last 6 events are top 6 finishes. No question, when this guy is playing well he can compete on the PGA Tour. Including his 2nd place finish losing in a playoff last week. Going off at 60 to 1 odds of victory, why not?
Both of these guys represent a sort of new player on the PGA Tour. Relatively older (29 and 30 respectively) that are finding success early in their PGA Tour careers.
I like it. I like both the players, but it raises interesting questions about the Tour these days and the hit the LIV golf has had. I'd like to think these guys still have their card and are having success if the tours combined, but who knows? Certainly, the depth on tour isn't what it was 4 years ago.
I'll be interested to see how these players fair once the better players are back to playing each week, or in majors, where the top players from all tours are playing.
But for this week, LFG Max and Nico!
