2025 Farmers Insurance Open PGA Tour Best Bets

PGA Tour heads to Torrey Pines this week, a familiar venue for PGA Tour players. This is also one of the more demanding courses on tour, and I expect the cream to rise to the top in this tournament. Sure, someone can always get hot, but I like the best players to emerge here.

Looking at the odds, Ludvig Aberg (+900) and Hideki Matsuyama (+1100) are the odds on favorites here. It's tough to not imagine one of these guys in contention on the back nine on Saturday (Wednesday - Saturday tournament).

I also want to bring something up that I think is affecting these early season tournaments. TGL. Last night, Rickie, Fitz, Cam Young, Cantlay, JT, Billy Ho, all played TGL. And what do you know, none of them are playing in one of the more revered tournaments of the year at Torrey.

Sad.

Why don't they play TGL during the Florida swing? Or during the fall after the season is over? I know this is additive, but it's also subtracting probably 4 of those 6 guys that would normally play at Torrey. And let's face it, TGL grabbed the top guys on tour due to Tiger's influence.

So after your already stretched thin at events because of LIV, add in another competing league, and we have a watered down field, at a tough course, where it seems like the cream will rise to the top.

Aside from those top 2, I'm looking this week at:

Aaron Rai

This guy has been nails dating back to last year. Drives it straight, hits it long enough, and solid putter which basically makes him a contender on any course. Going off at 50 to 1 to win this week, and a +180 bet to finish inside the top 20 seems (Draftkings) seems like a no brainer in this field.

Jake Knapp

Off to a slow start this year, Jake has a T56 and missed cut thus far. However, he did T3 at Torrey last year after a similar start his first 2 events. This is a bit of a wildcard pick, as Jake tends to be inconsistent this early in his PGA Tour career, but when he's got it going in the right direction it can be really good.

I'd look for him to rebound this week.
